Will LED Replace LCD In Flatscreens
Flat screen TVs came on the scene years ago and took the market by storm. Sales were slow at first but when the prices started to go down, everyone had to have one in their house. Now, when you go into a store that sells televisions, it is hard to find any of the old style tube TVs as they are mostly flat screens.
If you bought on of the first flat screen televisions, it was plasma and you had a choice of one with or without high definition. HD cost a lot more back then but now that prices have dropped so much, HD is included with all new sets. The more popular something is, the more units will be made which often allows the price to drop.
Shortly after the price of the plasma sets started to fall, something called LCD came on the market. LCD screens were similar to plasma but they are supposed to last longer and so many people preferred to buy LCD. If you go into a TV store today, you will find mostly LCD flat screens for sale with just a few plasma sets offered.
But as with so many other things in the world of technology, there is a new kind of flat screen that is already in the stores. LED flat screens made by Samsung are a kind of LCD technology but with backlighting that saves about 40% on electricity. Not only that but all models are an incredible 1.2 inches thin and the color and clarity is incredible.
If you want to see the new LED flat screens all you have to do is drop by your local Best Buy store. You will see the new LED sets on display and be amazed at the color and clarity as well as the thinness of the sets. If you were hesitant to hang your flat screen on the wall due to the weight, these new sets are much lighter and will be just what you are looking for. Unfortunately these LED televisions are a bit expensive right now but as more are made, the prices will drop.
