Finding Craft Shows in the Last Twelve Months
For the better part of the last twelve months, I found myself diving into the world of crafts. While my interests out of work have always been crafts, it wasn’t a serious endeavor until the recession was in full swing. In many ways, I saw the instability of work translate to a need to diversify my source of income.
Why haven’t I pursued this with as much fervor as before, even though making crafts (although in my case, it’s making woodcrafts of varying techniques) has always been a fun activity for me? I suppose the fear of losing my job in this economy did hat. But I was determined to develop another source of funds, so I took my craftworking a bit more seriously this time around.
These days, a lot of the small business starts out on the Internet. On my end, I knew I had to make more crafts to sell, and I began to look for places online to sell them. This is when I began to look for crafts show online. It was a simple task, and there is one in particular I recommend.
A word of warning; not all craft shows are worth getting into. Once you are able to find the ones that are most convenient for you, you’ll have to do some research regarding how well they prepare. Everyone has different ways of doing this; personally, I just go ahead and contact the event organizers. I am a pretty good judge of character, and based on what they say, I can more or less figure out if it’s worth attending.
And of course, while we choose the right show to showcase our work, some of the really good ones also only offer a limited number of slots for their show. But rather than let craftspeople attend on a first come, first served basis, they instead judge the skill of your work. Such events are called juried shows; they are some of the best ones you could attend.
